Half Way There!

20 weeks
Tonight Nick and I took our 20 week photo.  I can't believe how fast the past 20 weeks have gone.  Seems so strange that something you work so hard for can happen so fast.  Yesterday we had our 5 month check-up at the doctor and Ava was perfect!  We didn't get a picture, but we did hear her heartbeat!  At our next appointment Dr. Patel will be scheduling my glucose test and some blood work.  For now I am released from Dr. Cohen's care, which is AMAZING!  I am a normal pregnant woman.  Well...for now.  Dr. Patel wants me to be under Dr. Cohen's care during my last trimester so he can monitor me more closely.  I truely feel so blessed that Ava is developing and growing just as she should.  She is a fighter!

Our Miracle

Back in December Nick and I started out on a journey that we knew would not be easy.  Actually if I'm being honest this journey began almost 4 years ago.  Since moving to West Palm Beach, Florida Nick and I have wanted to start a family of our own.  Little did we know how difficult that would be.  Fast forward 4 years and I am almost 5 months pregnant...19 weeks tomorrow to be exact!  The great lord above has finally answered our prayers and brought us a baby girl.

I hope to one day tell our story of our trials and tribulations, but right now it only seems right to talk about what a miracle we have.  She's known in my family as "Rocky" and sometimes referred to as"Sundrop" but she has the most beautiful name I've ever heard...Ava McKinley Glass.  The "A" in Ava is for Alan my father-in-law who passed away and McKinley is for my grandfather Walter McKinley Pitts who has also passed away.  She has a strong name, a unique name, and I can't believe Nick and I agreed on it!!!!!!!!!

To catch everyone up to speed here is her timeline!
